It’s that time of the year again…holiday season! The In His Image program is excitedly preparing for Christmas with their students. Practice for the annual Christmas program has started and as you walk down the hall, carols can be heard coming from various classrooms.

For those of you that are unfamiliar with it, the In His Image Center is a program for children with Autism. The center was started in 2007 by an inspiring woman, after finding out that her son had autism. The staff at In His Image see that every child has worth and is created in God’s image. By coming to the In His Image center, differently-abled children are given the opportunity to reach their God-given potential. The children are taught skills big and small, helping to give them financial and social independence as they mature.

This holiday season the In His Image Center has put together a gift catalog providing donors with a variety of different ways you can help the children at In His Image. The gifts help these children experience the joys so common to other children at Christmas time.

This Christmas, please consider giving a gift to the children at In His Image. At a time which is so often defined by consumerism, we challenge you to give a gift that will have a meaningful impact in the life of a child. Providing these gifts and services to the children of the In His Image Center goes a long way in showing them that they are loved and valued in the eyes of God.

Even the smallest gift has a big impact on the lives of the children at In His Image, children like Jessie. Jessie is a young girl of seven years who is being brought up by her grandmother and aunt. She and her mother were abandoned by her father when she was diagnosed with autism. Her mother, diagnosed with schizophrenia, is unable to take care of her. She receives a scholarship for 97% of the cost of the program fees, without which she would have been locked up in her home, unable to come out. Intensive therapy has helped her become more independent. Your gifts go a long way in providing the support required for many children such as Jessie.

Please consider making In His Image a part of your family’s Christmas celebration this year.
