Vinod was a rich and influential man who belonged to the high caste in India. Vinod considered Christians untouchable and of a lower caste. The Christians were afraid of him because he often used his power and wealth to mistreat them. However, through TCT, they learned the importance of demonstrating God’s love to people in the community through small Acts of Love.

One Sunday, as the believers were returning home from church it began to rain heavily. They saw Vinod desperately trying to save his harvest from the rain so that it would not spoil. A member of the church approached his wife and asked if they could help. When his wife agreed, the church members worked quickly to move the harvest into their own homes until the rain passed. This saved Vinod’s harvest which otherwise would have rotted.

Many poor Christians believe that they are unable to help others because they have no resources. But this act used what the members had – their time and strength. Although a small act, it touched the heart of Vinod deeply. His heart was softened when the Christians responded to his mistreatment with assistance. Vinod approached the pastor of the church and asked him to forgive him for how he treated the church people.

Today, Vinod is a supporter of the church and its activities. He allows the church to use his vacant land for large events and even attends the meetings himself. Through one Act of Love, a persecutor of the church became a friend of the church.
