Quick Guide to Safer Screen Habits
internetmatters.org/parental-controls – This website lists devices by type, and gives instructions on how to turn on safety settings. FREE
searchrpm.com/internet-safety-for-kids/parent-resources/safe-browser-settings-for-kids – This website gives directions on how to choose safety settings on browsers (like chrome, safari, microsoft edge, firefox) FREE
FamilyShield – This is a free content filter service. It will help stop your devices from accessing inappropriate websites, pictures, videos or other content. It requires some navigation on your device in order to install. If necessary, get help from a tech-savvy friend or from a computer or phone store. FREE
The below links are all accountability software. Covenant Eyes is a Christian organization specifically focused on pornography. Accountability software filters content (like FamilyShield) and also keeps track of websites visited and time spent on different sites or apps. Many of these have a free trial period, but require a subscription to continue use.
